An Artwords workshop is a day of discovery; an oasis of time to look inward and unearth your unique voice in writing and images – a day of art journaling and writing, a day of Art and Words.

A journal, according to Merriam-Webster, is a record of “experiences, ideas or reflections kept regularly for private use.”  While you will be invited to do so, you may or may not want to share all or some of your work with the group.  And that is okay.  The day is about your individual inner journey.  You do not need to be an “artist” or a “writer”.  You will work on shrugging that inner critic off your shoulder as you allow yourself to spill your inner thoughts and words onto the page.

So, tap into your center and have fun on your own 8 x 10 playground while exploring the creative self that resides within everyone.  Play with paint and stamps and collaging.  Experiment with writing and listening.  Enjoy guided imagery and learn to center yourself through working with your breath.  Step by step instructions will make the process easy and you’ll leave with at least 3 completed pages of a handmade art journal, ideas to continue on your own, a goodie bag of art journaling tools and resources as well as some writing techniques to use as your muse moves you.
